Raising Them to Know the Lord
I want to thank all of the kids and parents for the Christmas gifts and goodies. I really enjoyed every gift, thank you so much. I also want to thank my FBC Family for the Christmas bonus and payroll raise for 2012. I love my job and church family, thank you!
December was busy but a wonderful month at FBC. The children did a great job with the choir musicals and helping in the Bethlehem walk. Our missionary talk from Jason Logan and his family was very interesting and the kids really enjoyed it (Thanks Jason, Liz and kids).
Our 5 year old Sunday school class (Mike and Lori Mckinnie and Janice Leonard's class) won the “high attendance day.” Yeah, way to go kids! They get an all expense paid trip to Chuck E. Cheese in Jackson. Parents of these kids, I will be calling you soon to let you know when in Jan. we will be taking this trip. Be sure to go by the 5 year old class and see their “high attendance belt” hanging proudly in their room!
January Schedule
January 9
Bible Buddies starts back.
January 10
ABC starts back.
January 11
Wednesday Night Meal and all Wedbesday Children's programs start back.
January 20
Parents night out! It will be from 6:00PM until 10:00PM. For babies to 5th graders (6th graders can come but are to be helpers, which means playing and helping the younger kids not just hanging out with other 6th graders.). Please feed your child supper before they come. If possible, donations would be appreciated (but not required at all) and will go towards children's camp in the summer. If you cannot give a donation please do not let this keep you from coming because every parent needs a parents night out sometime.
I cannot believe it is a new year and we are 12 years into the new millennium. Those of you who were not too young, do you remember when the year 2000 came and we were all nervous about what would happen to computers, our banking system, and if we would all be in the dark. The second the year 2000 came, (come on admit it, you stored up food, got extra cash out, made sure the flash lights all worked etc...) nothing unusual happened. I can't help but think God laughed and said “when will they ever learn I am in control, trust in me, and that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever.” We do need to remember that even though our lives change, we get older, our children grow up so fast (I had a new millennium baby who I can hardly believe will be 12 this new year), and our parents grow older and need us more, that our Sovereign God never changes and loves us and is in control of our lives and this world. Rejoice and do not fear over what a new year might bring you and your family, because if you are saved then the God of this universe will be with you every second of this new year.
Happy New Year!!
Love You, Mrs. Mary |
